Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure qualified training providers to deliver occupational health, safety, and environmental principles (OHS) training in accordance with SAQA Unit Standard ID 113852. The training aims to equip employees at all levels within the organization, especially those responsible for applying OHS principles, with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, evaluate, and control hazards, understand relevant legislation, and effectively gather and organize occupational health, safety, and environmental information.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Delivering Apply occupational health, safety, and environmental principles training covering key areas such as hazard identification, hazard evaluation, hazard control, legislation and regulations, and information gathering.
• The training is intended for first-time learners with no prior knowledge of OHS principles.
• The training duration is approximately 5 days, which can be delivered through a combination of classroom instruction, practical exercises, and simulations over 4 days.
• The training provider is responsible for providing all course learning materials.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Training must be aligned with SAQA Unit Standard ID 113852.
• Training content must cover the following key areas:
• Identifying hazards
• Evaluating hazards
• Controlling hazards
• Explaining and using relevant legislation and regulations
• Gathering and organizing occupational health, safety, and environmental information from the workplace
• Carrying out occupational health and safety training
• Training delivery should include classroom sessions, practical exercises, and simulations.
• Training duration: approximately 5 days, with 4 days dedicated to active training activities.
• Cost-effective proposals must include detailed pricing per candidate and per activity.

Skills Requirements

The successful training provider must demonstrate:

• Accreditation with relevant SETAs for assessor, facilitator, and moderator roles, with valid proof of accreditation.
• Experience in delivering occupational health, safety, and environmental training, with at least three reference letters confirming completion of similar SHE REP training within the past three years.
• Qualified trainers with appropriate skills and knowledge in OHS principles and SAQA standards.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging training programs that incorporate practical exercises and simulations.
• Provision of comprehensive training materials and resources.
• Compliance with all applicable national and local laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety training.
