Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the supply and delivery of train operations uniforms to PRASA. The aim is to procure high-quality, compliant PPE and uniforms that meet safety standards, ensuring the safety, comfort, and professionalism of train operation staff.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, and potential sample inspection of train operation uniforms and PPE items as specified in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). It covers various uniform items such as jackets, belts, pullovers, jerseys, jeans, scarves, and train driver kit bags, along with associated technical assessments and certifications.

Technical Requirements

• Items must be made from durable, high-quality materials resistant to wear and hazards.
• All PPE and uniforms must comply with relevant national and international standards (e.g., OSHA, SANS, SABS, EN).
• Samples must be submitted for physical inspection to verify material quality, design, fit, and compliance.
• Product certifications, detailed datasheets, and proof of similar completed contracts are mandatory.
• Uniforms should offer ergonomic design, proper fit, and protection against hazards.
• Packaging must include accurate labeling with content, batch number, manufacture, and expiry dates.
• All items must be delivered within the specified lead time, with supporting evidence provided.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in supplying PPE and uniforms for large-scale projects, with documented past performance.
• Ability to provide valid product certifications and detailed technical data sheets.
• Capability to conduct and pass technical assessments, including sample inspections and testing.
• Compliance with tax and legal requirements, including registration on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Capacity to meet quality standards, delivery deadlines, and provide warranties for supplied items.
• Proficiency in preparing comprehensive bid documentation, including pricing schedules, BOQ, and compliance declarations.
