Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to seek information from experienced respondents capable of supplying, installing, operating, and maintaining an automated vehicle inspection booth within the port environment. The ultimate goal is to enhance operational efficiency at the Durban RORO Terminal by electronically inspecting vehicles entering or departing, capturing high-resolution images, and integrating seamlessly with Transnet's internal systems. This initiative aims to reduce claims, improve data accuracy, and align with international best practices.

Scope

The scope of the project includes:

• Leasing, supply, installation, and maintenance of an automated vehicle inspection booth for a period of 60 months.
• Provision of a solution that electronically inspects vehicles, captures data, and provides high-resolution images and documentation.
• Ensuring seamless integration with Transnet Port Terminals’ internal systems.
• Operational activities covering the entire lifecycle from installation to ongoing maintenance and support.
• Adherence to performance standards related to image quality, processing speed, data security, operational, and regulatory compliance.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• The inspection booth must meet all inspection capabilities outlined in the scope.
• Image quality and processing speed must comply with performance standards.
• The booth must operate effectively under various conditions such as daylight, glare, nighttime, and adverse weather.
• Data security and privacy measures must be implemented to protect captured information.
• The solution must facilitate high-resolution imaging and efficient data processing.
• Compliance with all relevant operational, safety, and regulatory standards.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

• Extensive experience in the supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of automated vehicle inspection systems within port environments.
• Technical expertise in high-resolution imaging, data processing, and system integration.
• Proven ability to deliver solutions that operate reliably under various environmental conditions.
• Capability to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant legislation such as POPIA.
• Strong project management skills to coordinate installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Ability to provide technical support and training to port personnel.
