Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider to provide ad-hoc transport and shuttle services for the CEO of Artscape, a person living with a disability. The services aim to ensure secure, timely, and reliable transportation for the CEO, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays, both within Cape Town and the Western Province, over a three-year period.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of secure, reliable, and roadworthy vehicles (without modifications) for ad-hoc transport needs.
• Transportation services for the CEO and accompanying carer, with flexibility to work outside regular hours, weekends, and public holidays.
• Assistance with trips beyond Cape Town within the Western Cape.
• Ownership of several reliable vehicles, with proof of ownership to be provided.
• Potential for Artscape to request proposal presentations from shortlisted providers.
• Responsibilities include driving, vehicle maintenance (battery, brakes, tyres, etc.), and maintaining a trip logbook submitted monthly.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the service provider include:

• Ownership of several reliable, roadworthy vehicles suitable for passenger transport.
• Provision of vehicles that meet safety and roadworthiness standards.
• Ability to operate after hours, on public holidays, and weekends.
• Experience in providing chauffeur services with good driving records.
• Screening for criminal records prior to appointment.
• Provision of three recent (not older than six months) reference letters with contact details.
• Compliance with government procurement conditions and submission of all required documentation.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider and driver must possess:

• Knowledge:
  • Understanding of transportation laws (Essential)
  • Good traffic judgment (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Western Cape geography (Desirable)
• Skills:
  • Excellent driving skills (Essential)
  • Good communication skills (Essential)
  • Computer literacy (Desirable)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a driver/chauffeur with a good driving record (Essential)
  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours, including public holidays and weekends (Essential)
  • Discreet and respectful of confidentiality (Essential)
• Qualifications:
  • Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Essential)
  • Valid Code EB / B driver’s license (Essential)
  • Driver to have their own cellular phone (Essential)
