Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to obtain quotations for updating and preparing as-built building plans for the Harmberg and Scott Atholl Depots. This includes ensuring the plans accurately reflect the current layouts, comply with relevant standards such as SANS 10400 (Fire safety), SANS 50795, EN 795:2012 (fall protection), and incorporating upgrades like gas storage cages and roof anchor points. Additionally, the development of comprehensive emergency evacuation plans is required.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Updating existing building plans for both depots to match current layouts and standards.
• Upgrading the gas storage cage for five gas lines in accordance with SANS 10087 and integrating it into the updated plans.
• Adding roof anchor points compliant with SANS 50795 and EN 795:2012 standards.
• Developing or updating emergency evacuation plans in line with safety regulations.
• Providing detailed drawings and documentation for various buildings, including offices, workshops, storage, and other structures at both depots.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Updating building plans to reflect current layouts and ensure compliance with relevant standards (SANS 10400, SANS 10087, EN 795:2012).
• Upgrading gas storage cages for the gas lines as per SANS 10087.
• Incorporating roof anchor points for fall protection systems.
• Developing comprehensive emergency evacuation plans.
• Ensuring all plans are prepared on approved formats and include necessary certifications.
• Engaging qualified professionals such as registered architects, senior architectural technologists, or architectural technologists registered with SACAP.
• Allowing for the appointment of specialized engineers (fire, mechanical, structural) as part of the project.

Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Registration as a Professional Architect, Senior Architectural Technologist, or Architectural Technologist with SACAP, with proof of registration.
• Good standing with the professional body.
• Experience in building plan updates, compliance with safety standards, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ability to develop emergency evacuation plans and incorporate safety features such as roof anchor points and gas cage upgrades.
• Capability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers (fire, mechanical, structural).
• Proficiency in preparing documentation suitable for submission to authorities and for construction purposes.
