Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Risk Management Training services for BANKSETA's combined assurance forum and risk management committee members. The training aims to enhance understanding of roles and responsibilities related to risk management, enterprise risk management, combined assurance, risk appetite and tolerance, and business continuity management, thereby strengthening the organisation's risk management processes.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Designing and delivering a full-day in-contact training session for 30 committee members.
• Covering topics such as roles and responsibilities of risk management committees, combined assurance functions, individual assurance providers (Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk Management), assurance reporting, risk management strategies, standards (COSO, ISO), risk appetite and tolerance, and business continuity management.
• Providing training that results in improved confidence and learning in the risk management process.
• Delivering the training by 30 June 2026.

Technical Requirements

The training content must include:

• Roles and responsibilities of risk management and assurance committees.
• Functions of individual assurance providers such as Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Management.
• Integration of assurance results into a Combined Assurance Plan.
• Application of standards like COSO, ISO, and other relevant guidelines.
• Organisation’s strategy, risk reporting, risk management plans, maturity, and continuous improvement.
• Practical learning and confidence-building in risk management processes.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• At least two (2) years of experience in South Africa in delivering enterprise risk management, compliance management, combined assurance, business continuity/resilience, or risk appetite and tolerance training.
• Provision of references (client letters) from the past 5 years confirming successful training in the relevant areas, specifically stating the nature of training conducted.
• Qualified personnel with a minimum of NQF Level 6 certification or equivalent in governance, risk, or compliance management.
• Facilitation experience in conducting full-day in-contact training sessions for similar groups.
