Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for the servicing of fire fighting equipment within JCPZ facilities. The aim is to ensure that fire safety equipment is maintained in optimal condition, compliant with safety standards, and ready for use in emergencies.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Servicing of various fire fighting equipment including fire extinguishers of different sizes and types (e.g., ABC, CO2), fire hydrant valves, fire hose reels, and signage.
• Additional works such as refilling, pressure and hydrostatic testing, re-painting, signage installation, and supply/replacement of fire safety equipment.
• Servicing activities across multiple buildings within the JCPZ facilities, including general fire system maintenance and related ancillary works.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Completion of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and adherence to specifications.
• Attendance at a compulsory site briefing.
• Provision of certified copies of SABS diamond mark certificates and technician certifications (SAQCC).
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including submission of relevant certificates and proof of insurance.
• Proper disposal of damaged or hazardous materials at registered dumpsites with submission of disposal certificates.
• Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and materials to perform servicing, testing, refilling, and installation activities.
• Adherence to relevant standards such as SANS/Trade specifications and manufacturer's instructions.
• Provision of Certificates of Compliance (COC) for electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other relevant systems upon completion.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Service providers must demonstrate:

• Certified technical personnel with SAQCC certification for fire equipment servicing.
• Certified copies of the SABS diamond mark for relevant products.
• Proof of residence for all directors (latest municipal statement or lease agreement).
• Valid COIDA Certificate (good standing) from the Department of Labor.
• Experience in fire safety systems, including servicing, testing, and installation of fire extinguishers, hydrants, hoses, and signage.
• Ability to comply with occupational health and safety regulations and environmental management standards.
• Capacity to undertake additional works such as re-painting, signage installation, and supply of fire safety equipment.
• Knowledge of disposal procedures for hazardous materials and compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
