Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a competent service provider to supply and deliver social relief and disaster relief materials over a period of 36 months. The aim is to provide temporary assistance to vulnerable households affected by natural disasters such as fires, floods, and other emergencies within the jurisdiction of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Municipality. The project seeks to ensure effective disaster response and recovery, supporting affected communities promptly and efficiently.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of social and disaster relief materials as per the attached pricing schedule.
• Provision of related services such as transportation, installation of toilets and tents during or after disaster incidents.
• Deliveries to be made within 48 hours of formal instruction from the municipality.
• Provision of various relief items including mattresses, blankets, corrugated iron sheets, steel windows, grocery packs, agricultural seedlings, sanitary towels, and other relief materials.
• Provision of toilets and tents during or after disaster incidents.
• Replacement of damaged or defective items at no cost within specified timeframes.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• Supplied goods must be new, unused, and conform to South African Bureau Standards (SABS) and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Items must meet minimum specifications outlined in the tender, including unit prices per financial year.
• Deliveries must be completed within 48 hours of instruction.
• All goods must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit and storage.
• Suppliers must provide proof of product specifications, guarantees, and compliance with standards.
• Replacement of defective or damaged items must be done free of charge within the stipulated period.
• Pricing must remain fixed for the duration of the 3-year contract unless adjustments are authorized.

Skills Requirements
