Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver bearings, specifically the BM200 model, as per the specifications outlined. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality bearings manufactured from specified materials, suitable for use in infrastructure projects such as the Archimedes screw pump at Olifantsvlei WWTW.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of:

• Two assemblies of Bottom Bearing Housing (BM200), including associated components such as back cover plates, bushes, shafts, bearing holder brackets, and socket head screws.
• Manufacturing of the bottom bearing shaft from a single solid piece of hardened EN19 material, as specified.
• Adherence to detailed technical drawings and specifications provided in the tender documentation.

The scope also covers compliance with quality standards, proper packaging, and timely delivery to the specified location.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Manufacture of the bottom bearing shaft and flange from a single solid piece of hardened EN19 material.
• Component specifications as per the provided drawings and BOM, including dimensions, material types, and mass.
• Application of Jotamastic 90 coating to a dry film thickness (DFT) of 420 microns on the screw pump components, with final colour in black.
• Manufacture of components with specified tolerances and dimensions, such as shaft diameter Ø245mm and length 420mm, OD of 290mm for the housing, etc.
• Compliance with structural and safety standards as indicated in the drawings and specifications.

Skills Requirements

The skills and expertise required for bidders include:

• Proficiency in manufacturing components from high-strength materials such as EN19 and Vesconite Hilube.
• Experience in precision machining and fabrication of large mechanical components, including shafts, housings, and brackets.
• Capability to apply specialized coatings such as Jotamastic 90 to specified thicknesses.
• Knowledge of interpreting detailed technical drawings and BOMs to ensure accurate manufacturing.
• Quality assurance and inspection skills to verify dimensions, material integrity, and coating application.
