Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of fertilizers and pesticides for agricultural use at the Umzinto Correctional Centre, under the Department of Correctional Services. The aim is to ensure the department has access to quality agricultural inputs to support its plant production activities.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of specified fertilizers, including 2:3:2 and 2:3:4 formulations, in 50kg bags.
• Supply and delivery of various pesticides, including Starbug, Eco-Film, Judo Secure 106CS, Cypermethrin, and Lambda, in specified quantities and packaging (litres).
• Delivery to the designated location at Umzinto Correctional Centre within the stipulated contract period.
• Compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines as outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of fertilizers and pesticides that meet the specifications outlined in the bid documentation.
• Adherence to the standards specified in the National Department of Correctional Services Product Specification.
• Proper packaging to prevent damage during transit, with clear labeling matching invoices.
• Delivery of goods in accordance with the delivery schedule and documentation requirements.
• Provision of all necessary certificates, including B-BBEE verification, tax compliance, and certification of documents by a commissioner of oath.
• Compliance with the conditions related to local content and participation goals, supported by appropriate documentation.
• Guarantee of quality, newness, and defect-free products with warranties as specified in the contract conditions.
• Inclusion of all applicable taxes, notably VAT at 15%, in the pricing.
• Provision of a signed confirmation of supply arrangements if sourcing from third parties, via BD 27 form.
