Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver general inventory items to Randwater Vereeniging, ensuring the procurement of specified products, including chemicals, valves, fittings, tools, and other miscellaneous items, in accordance with specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a wide range of inventory items, including chemical products (e.g., chlorine valves), mechanical components (e.g., pipes, couplings, valves), tools, safety equipment, and miscellaneous consumables. Delivery must be made to Rand Water Main Stores in Vereeniging, adhering to specified packaging, safety, and delivery conditions. The scope also includes providing samples or written confirmation for certain items, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and meeting specific quality standards.

Technical Requirements

• Items must meet specified technical standards, such as ANSI B16.10 face-to-face dimensions, pressure ratings, and material specifications (e.g., LCB body for chlorine valves, stainless steel for ball valves).
• Chemical products require a valid 16-point Safety Data Sheet (SDS) with an expiry of at least 5 years, compliant with Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulations.
• Packaging should be sturdy and acceptable (e.g., sealed plastics or boxes).
• Delivery must be in accordance with the specified delivery schedule, with partial deliveries permissible if arranged.
• All chemical products must be accompanied by safety and compliance documentation.
• Items such as gloves, adhesives, ropes, and tools must conform to quality and safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to supply products that meet detailed technical specifications and standards.
• Proven compliance with safety regulations, particularly for hazardous chemicals, including the provision of SDS and proper packaging.
• Capability to provide samples or written confirmation of product specifications upon request.
• Experience in delivering inventory items to large industrial or municipal clients, with adherence to safety and delivery protocols.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including completing detailed pricing schedules and adhering to evaluation criteria based on functionality and B-BBEE status.
• Ability to meet the environmental and safety standards required by Rand Water, including wearing safety gear during delivery and complying with OHSA and NKP regulations.
