Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Local Content Class D Fencing Material for the refurbishment of the Majuba Reservoir, located between Perderkop and Amersfoort in Mpumalanga Province. The project aims to ensure the provision of quality fencing materials that meet specified standards, support local content requirements, and facilitate the successful completion of the reservoir refurbishment.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of specified fencing materials, including posts, barbed wire, plain wire, straining bolts, stay bolts, washers, nuts, and gates.
• Provision of technical support and adherence to safety and environmental policies.
• Delivery of materials to the Majuba Reservoir site during designated working hours.
• Compliance with local content requirements, ensuring all fencing products are locally manufactured from local raw materials.
• Completion of the project within the specified delivery period and according to technical specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the fencing materials include:

• Galvanised mild steel posts, 2.15 m long, 108 mm diameter, with welded base plates and pressed steel end caps.
• Posts to be hot-dip galvanised and compliant with CKS 82 standards.
• Studded Y-section fencing posts, 1.85 m long, with notches at 25 mm intervals for wire spacing.
• Ridgeback T-section droppers, 1.35 m long, weighing 0.56 kg/m.
• Barbed wire manufactured to SANS standards, coated with Class C Zinc, with 125 mm barb spacing, approximately 270 m per roll.
• Plain wire and binding wire (1.6 mm and 2 mm diameter), galvanised, 20 kg per roll.
• Galvanised straining bolts, stay bolts, washers, nuts, and gates (farm and pedestrian), all complying with specified standards.
• All materials must be delivered in accordance with the specified delivery schedule and safety/environmental policies.
