Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of machinery necessary for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the road infrastructure and stormwater systems within the Sundays River Valley Municipality. The machinery is intended to address the current severe deterioration of roads by executing tasks that are not suitable for manual labor, thereby supporting the municipality’s efforts to improve road conditions and prevent third-party damages.

• Provision of various machinery items such as trailers, concrete mixers, airless paint sprayers, poke vibrators, and other equipment specified in the technical specifications.

General Specifications

• Machinery must be new, unused, and of the latest models with all recent design improvements.
• All equipment must meet the specifications outlined in the bid document, including dimensions, weight, capacity, and safety features.

  • Heavy-duty trailer with 1500kg GVM, braked axle, 600mm sides, and safety rails.
  • Features include rope tie downs, welded lip channel chassis, LED lights, stone deflectors, boxed fenders, jockey wheel, spare wheel, tailgate, rubber flooring.
• Concrete Mixer:
  • Capacity: 400L, weight: 218kg, dimensions: 189x87x148cm.
  • Powered by a 5.5hp diesel engine, with a drum rotation of 30rpm, and features such as flywheel protection and volumetric weight of 486kg.
• 1500W Cart Airless Paint Sprayer:
  • Complete set with stainless steel frame, rubber tires, adjustable pressure (250BAR), and accessories for road marking.
• Poke Vibrator:
  • Powered by a diesel engine, tube diameter 35mm, head length 400mm, amplitude 1.0mm, weight 14.5kg, and capable of 1200 VBR/min.

Additional Technical Requirements

• All machinery must comply with relevant standards and specifications, including SATS 1286:2011 for local content.
• Machinery must be delivered within a specified timeframe, with proof of compliance and certification (not older than 3 months).
• Machinery must have a local production content of 100% as per the local content declaration requirements.
• All bidders must submit relevant documents such as tax compliance certificates, preference points claim forms, and declarations of interest.
