Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supplier capable of providing and delivering swimming equipment to support the safety and operational needs of lifeguards and coastal patrols within Ingquza Hill Local Municipality. The equipment aims to ensure the safety of residents and visitors across the municipality’s beaches, with a focus on meeting specified technical standards and local content requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various swimming equipment items such as adjustable aluminium paddles, beach poles, masks, fins, water gear kits, first aid kits, and spinal boards. The equipment must meet detailed specifications outlined in the tender, including quantities, quality standards, packaging, and safety features. The delivery is to be made to the municipal offices in Flagstaff within the stipulated timeframe.

Technical Requirements

• Adjustable portable aluminium paddles (2 pcs), black with ergonomic grip, 6m long beach poles with steel spikes, packaged in a hard-shell carrying case.
• Vinyl cuff masks fitting adults, children, and infants.
• Swimming fins in specified sizes.
• Complete water gear kits including waterproof caps, anti-frog goggles, earplugs, nose clips, and storage backpacks.
• First aid kits containing all necessary items.
• High-quality spinal boards, pre-stressed, with non-slip surface, multiple gripping handles, weight of 7kg, and load capacity of 159kg.

All equipment must comply with the specifications detailed in the tender document, including safety, durability, and packaging standards.

• Qualified and experienced service providers with proven capability to supply and deliver swimming equipment as specified.
• Compliance with the municipality’s procurement policies, including submission of mandatory documents such as company registration, tax compliance, and local content declarations.
• Demonstrated ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards for safety equipment.
• Knowledge of local procurement regulations and preference policies, including B-BBEE and local content requirements.
• Capacity to provide technical support and documentation, including proof of local manufacturing or content where applicable.
