Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) items to the City of Johannesburg. The aim is to ensure the provision of high-quality PPE that meets specified standards, complies with local content requirements, and supports local economic development.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and offloading of various PPE items including safety shoes, reflector jackets, overalls, dust coats, flame-resistant jackets and trousers, aprons, laboratory coats, goggles, respiratory masks, torches, pepper sprays, raincoats, thermal jackets, sun hats, socks, gloves, and high-visibility reflector jackets. The procurement covers specified quantities for each item, with samples to be provided prior to bulk procurement, and all items must adhere to technical specifications and safety standards outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Items must meet relevant standards such as SABS approval, ISO20471, and SANS 50471 compliance.
• Safety shoes must be high-quality leather, breathable, with steel toe impact protection, slip/oil/heat resistance, and dual-density PU/PU soles.
• Reflector jackets should be zip-off sleeve, elasticated, with City of Johannesburg logo, compliant with ISO20471 and SANS 50471.
• Overalls must be royal blue, cotton, with reflective tape, embroidered logos, and specific sizing.
• Dust coats, acid-resistant flame-retardant jackets, and trousers must be made of 100% cotton with specified weight and finish.
• Additional PPE such as goggles, respiratory masks (FFP3), torches, pepper sprays, raincoats, thermal jackets, sun hats, socks, gloves, and high-visibility jackets must meet specified safety, durability, and compliance standards.
• All PPE must be supplied with samples for approval before bulk procurement.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in sourcing PPE that complies with technical and safety standards (SABS, ISO, SANS).
• Ability to provide certified samples prior to bulk supply.
• Knowledge of local content regulations and the ability to complete and submit local content declarations and supporting documentation.
• Experience in logistics and delivery to ensure timely offloading at specified locations.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations to ensure PPE compliance.
• Capability to complete all required forms, declarations, and certifications, including tax clearance, BBBEE, and conflict of interest disclosures.
• Competence in managing supplier registration and maintaining accurate supplier data.
