Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver modified high impact polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, specifically 110mm and 200mm diameter pipes, with specified lengths and standards, to meet the operational needs of Johannesburg Water. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality pipes that comply with relevant standards and are suitable for high-impact applications within water infrastructure projects.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of the following pipe types:
• 110mm x 6 meters, class 16, with SG42 yellow, passivated pressed-on collars, SABS 1283 approved (50 units)
• 200mm x 6 meters, class 16, with SG42 yellow, passivated pressed-on collars, SABS 1283 approved (50 units)
• 200mm x 6 meters, class 16, spigot and socketted, SABS 966 Part 2 (50 units)
• 315mm x 6 meters, class 12, spigot and socketted, SABS 966 Part 2 (20 units)

The delivery must be made in accordance with the specifications, standards, and quality requirements specified in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Manufacture of pipes must be compliant with SABS standards (SABS 1283, SABS 966)
• Passivated pressed-on collars for 110mm and 200mm pipes
• Yellow color coding for identification
• Pipe lengths of 6 meters
• Class 16 for 110mm and 200mm pipes, class 12 for 315mm pipes
• Spigot and socketted joints for specified pipes, with appropriate standards
• All pipes must be approved and certified for high-impact applications
• Provide manufacturer datasheets and brand names for all items; failure to do so will result in disqualification

Skills and Supplier Requirements

• Suppliers must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide proof of registration
• Suppliers must be black-owned businesses with 51% or more ownership by Black People, and qualify as an EME or QSE
• Provide valid BBBEE certificates or sworn affidavits demonstrating compliance with transformation goals
• Manufacturers must supply datasheets and brand names for all items offered
• Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to meet technical specifications and delivery timelines
• All quotations must be on company letterheads, inclusive of all taxes, and submitted before the closing date
• Compliance with Johannesburg Water's supply chain policies and procurement regulations is mandatory
• Experience in supplying similar high-impact PVC pipes and adherence to quality standards is essential
