The primary objective of this tender is to procure helicopter charter services for Rand Water's scientific and operational needs. Specifically, the services aim to support aerial surveys of river systems, including the Vaal Barrage and Vaal Dam catchments, to identify pollution incidents, riparian encroachment, and source water management issues. The helicopter services will also include photography and videography for incident recording and reporting. The work requires skilled pilots to ensure safe low-level flying in challenging environments, including rivers, wetlands, residential, and industrial areas.
The scope of work involves providing ad-hoc helicopter flights based on operational requirements, such as pollution incidents or flooding events, which must be arranged within 24 hours. The flights will vary in duration and may include:
