Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit bids for the surface rehabilitation of the Lima Taxiway at OR Tambo International Airport, ensuring the taxiway meets safety, operational, and durability standards through appropriate surface rehabilitation works.

Scope

The scope encompasses the surface rehabilitation of the Lima Taxiway, including all necessary preparatory, remedial, and finishing works to restore and improve the taxiway surface in accordance with specified standards and requirements. The scope also involves compliance with safety, environmental, and operational protocols as outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Completion of surface rehabilitation works on the Lima Taxiway as per the scope of work specified in Part C3 of the tender documentation.
• Adherence to the CIDB contractor grading of 4CE or higher.
• Provision of detailed project plans, schedules, and methodology for surface rehabilitation.
• Implementation of safety, environmental, and health standards, including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Provision of proof of relevant experience, including previous similar projects on airports or roads.
• Submission of detailed pricing, including fixed rates and prices for the duration of the contract.
• Provision of necessary insurances, bonds, and guarantees prior to contract signing.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Company experience in construction or rehabilitation projects, particularly in airport or roadway environments, with at least 3 relevant completed projects supported by reference letters and certificates.
• Qualified personnel including:
  • Civil Engineers with relevant experience and registration (Pr Tech or Pr Eng).
  • Electrical Engineers with appropriate qualifications.
  • Resident Engineers with proven experience in similar projects.
  • Construction Managers or Project Managers with valid registration and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and safety management systems.
• Proven financial stability and capacity to undertake the project, supported by relevant financial documents.
• Knowledge of and compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to airport surface works.
• Experience with procurement, contract management, and quality assurance processes.

All bidders must meet the minimum CIDB grading requirement and provide proof of registration, relevant experience, and key personnel qualifications as part of their submission.
