Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint suitably qualified and experienced service providers to deliver high-quality cleaning and gardening services across all Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) complexes. The services aim to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and proper landscaping at designated sites, including offices, common areas, parking areas, and external surroundings, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for tenants and staff.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Cleaning of offices, common areas, staircases, entrances, and passages daily.
• Floor maintenance including mopping, stripping, polishing, and buffing as required.
• Waste disposal, including removal of all waste in plastic bags to designated dustbin areas and regular bin cleaning.
• Cleaning of toilets, sinks, urinals, mirrors, and sanitization daily.
• Cleaning of metal fittings, walls, doors, and windows as needed.
• Reporting leaks, vandalism, broken windows, and missing fire equipment.
• External maintenance such as sweeping, litter collection, grass cutting, weed removal, and maintaining drainage channels.
• Landscaping activities including grass cutting at least once a week and weed control.
• Specific site requirements for complexes including Chris Hani Village, Pharoe Park, Airport Park, and Delville Ext 3 & 9.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of sufficient labor, materials, and equipment to meet scope specifications.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety boots, gloves, glasses, overalls, and masks when handling waste or chemicals.
• Availability of mobile storage facilities for personnel and equipment.
• Adherence to scheduled cleaning and maintenance routines, including waste removal, grass cutting, and external cleaning activities.
• Compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Submission of compulsory compliance documents, including valid lease agreements where applicable and proof of company registration.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from service providers include:

• Proven experience in cleaning and gardening services within similar environments.
• Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality hygiene and landscaping services.
• Knowledge of proper waste disposal, cleaning techniques, and landscaping practices.
• Capacity to provide trained personnel equipped with appropriate PPE.
• Effective reporting and communication skills to coordinate with EHC staff and report issues such as leaks, vandalism, or safety hazards.
• Capability to manage and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently.
