Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver pest control and fumigation services on an "as-and-when" basis for a period not exceeding 11 months. The service aims to effectively eradicate targeted pests such as rodents, insects, snakes, and other nuisance species across specified areas within the Ekurhuleni region, ensuring a safe, clean, and pest-free environment.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of pest control and fumigation services at designated sites including offices, community centers, guard houses, housing areas, and other specified locations within Ekurhuleni.
• Regular scheduled treatments and ad hoc interventions as required.
• Removal and management of pests such as rodents, flying insects (cockroaches, flies, wasps, bees), creepy crawlies, snakes, and other specified pests.
• Post-treatment cleanup, including removal of dead pests and tidying of treated areas.
• Provision of supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and detailed site-specific recommendations for pest prevention.
• Monitoring, trapping, pesticide application, and pest removal components.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with all applicable Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
• Use of pesticides registered with the Department of Agriculture, applied strictly according to label instructions and MSDS sheets.
• Provision of current labels and MSDS sheets for all pesticides used.
• Application of approved pest control devices and equipment, including bait boxes, traps, and monitoring devices.
• Provision of a pest control plan, including work schedule, site-specific recommendations, and response times.
• Adherence to scheduled service times (07h30 - 16h30) and notification procedures for any outside scheduled times.
• Proper documentation and record-keeping of all pest control activities, including logs and reports.
• Qualified personnel with valid certificates registered with the Department of Agriculture.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for personnel include:

• Certification and registration of pest control officers with the Department of Agriculture.
• Experience in pest management, fumigation, and use of pest control equipment.
• Knowledge of pesticide application, safety protocols, and environmental considerations.
• Ability to prepare and implement pest control plans tailored to site-specific needs.
• Competence in record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Effective communication skills for coordination and reporting purposes.
