Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to appoint a suitable service provider to conduct an advanced driving course in Gauteng for fifty (50) participants. The course aims to enhance defensive driving skills, vehicle control, safety awareness, and practical skidpan training to improve road safety and driver competence.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of a full-day advanced defensive driving course, including theoretical and practical components.
• Modules covering defensive driving theory, hazard recognition, vehicle inspection, night driving, driver fitness, vehicle control systems, tyre safety, economical driving, hijack prevention, and skidpan practical training.
• Venue and vehicle provision, qualified instructors, and all necessary training materials.
• Conducting practical exercises such as skid avoidance, steering exercises, ABS emergency lane changes, and feedback certification.
• Training to be delivered on 30 June 2026 in Gauteng for 50 participants.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must meet the following technical requirements:

• Accreditation by the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) in relevant topics such as Road Transport, Professional Driving, Defensive Driving, Advanced Driver Skills, Vehicle Control, and Safety Training.
• Provision of a suitable venue and vehicles, qualified instructors, and all necessary training modules.
• Training duration limited to a maximum of 4 hours.
• Use of accredited trainers and adherence to the specified modules and practical exercises.
• Compliance with safety standards, including fire suppression systems, secure premises, and physical security measures.
• Implementation of security protocols for handling, transport, storage, and retrieval of sensitive documents and data, including encryption, access controls, and incident reporting.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must possess:

• Valid accreditation from TETA for relevant training modules.
• Qualified and experienced driving instructors with expertise in defensive and advanced driving techniques.
• Capability to provide practical training facilities, including skidpan and vehicle control exercises.
• Experience in conducting similar driver training courses with a focus on safety and practical skills.
• Strong security and data protection skills to ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Ability to manage logistics, including venue, vehicles, and training materials, efficiently and securely.
