Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is for the Road Accident Fund (RAF) to appoint a suitable service provider capable of delivering ambulance services for the RAF Sport Day in Johannesburg. The aim is to ensure timely and efficient ambulance support during the event, supporting the RAF’s mandate to provide emergency medical assistance and promote road safety.

Scope

The scope includes providing ambulance services at a designated venue within a 50 km radius from RAF Johannesburg for the RAF Sport Day scheduled on 5 June 2026. The services involve deploying ambulances staffed with qualified paramedics, equipped to respond to emergencies during the event. The location of the event venue will be confirmed, and the service provider must be prepared to operate within the specified area and timeframe.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of ambulance services with two paramedics per ambulance, registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Submission of valid HPCSA registration certificates for the paramedics.
• Provision of an emergency medical services operating license issued by the relevant provincial Department of Health.
• Ambulances must be capable of transporting patients to government or private hospitals from the venue.
• Compliance with the specifications outlined in the RFQ documentation, including staffing, equipment, and operational standards.
• Availability to operate at the designated site on the specified date, with readiness to respond to emergencies during the event.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified paramedics registered with HPCSA, with current and valid registration.
• Experience in emergency medical response, preferably in event or sports day settings.
• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
• Ability to operate ambulance vehicles within the specified area and adhere to safety standards.
• Capacity to coordinate with event organizers and other emergency services as required.
