Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is for the Road Accident Fund (RAF) to appoint an Orthopedic Surgeon who will conduct detailed clinical examinations of two (2) motor vehicle accident claimants. The appointed surgeon will be responsible for providing expert assessments to support the RAF's claims evaluation process.

• Conducting comprehensive clinical examinations of the specified claimants.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Implementation of organisational security measures to protect confidential, private, personal, or sensitive information.
• Protocols for proper handling, transportation, and storage of files and documents, including secure transport containers and lockable storage facilities.
• Accurate record-keeping of document locations, access history, and retention schedules.
• Secure retrieval protocols with identity verification and detailed activity logs.
• Physical security measures such as lockable cabinets, controlled access, surveillance systems, fire suppression, and alarm systems.
• Cybersecurity measures including firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, and compliance with data protection laws.
• Procedures for incident reporting, breach mitigation, and oversight of third-party service providers handling personal information.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the successful bidder include:

• Qualified and experienced Orthopedic Surgeon with relevant medical credentials.
• Proven ability to conduct detailed clinical examinations and produce comprehensive medical reports.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection legislation, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
• Experience in handling sensitive medical and personal data securely.
• Ability to implement and adhere to organisational security and cybersecurity protocols.
• Capacity to manage secure transportation and storage of confidential documents and data.
• Demonstrated understanding of physical and digital security measures to prevent unauthorized access or breaches.
