Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a photovoltaic (PV) solar system at Tweede Tol Campsite within the Limietberg Nature Reserve. The project aims to replace the existing vandalized PV infrastructure, enhance energy supply to campsite facilities, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Design and installation of a PV solar system, including mounting panels on building roofs, configuring arrays into strings, and integrating with existing electrical infrastructure.
• Provision and installation of inverters, batteries, and associated electrical components such as distribution boards, cabling, and protective devices.
• Installation of security features including CCTV cameras, security gates, and locking mechanisms.
• Servicing and repair of campsite lighting, installation of DC systems at braai areas, and upgrading of the building's entrance gate.
• Implementation of fire detection systems, lightning protection, earthing, and safety measures in accordance with relevant standards.
• Compliance with environmental specifications, safety regulations, and obtaining necessary permits.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Installation of a PV system with 20 panels of 585W each, configured into three strings, with Sunsynk or equivalent inverters and batteries with a minimum 10-year warranty.
• Electrical connections to existing and new distribution boards, with compliance to SANS 10142-1 standards.
• Use of specified cabling, protective devices, and surge arrestors.
• Installation of security cameras, CCTV system, fire detection, and lightning protection as per detailed schematics and specifications.
• Adherence to environmental and safety standards, including environmental management plans and risk assessments.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in designing and installing PV solar systems, electrical infrastructure, and security systems.
• CIDB contractor grading of 2EB or higher, with relevant electrical and PV installation expertise.
• Capability to supply and install electrical components, including inverters, batteries, and distribution boards, in accordance with national standards.
• Qualified personnel including electrical engineers, technicians, and safety officers with appropriate certifications and experience.
• Knowledge of environmental management, safety regulations, and environmental impact mitigation measures.
• Ability to coordinate with environmental specialists, safety officers, and project managers to ensure compliance and quality standards.
