Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a brand new robotic auto-titrator instrument for analytical services within the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The instrument aims to enhance laboratory capabilities by providing automated titration analysis for various parameters, including nitrate, total hardness, and electrical conductivity, ensuring accurate, efficient, and science-based results to support agricultural research and development.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the robotic auto-titrator instrument, along with comprehensive training for operators. The scope also includes providing a maintenance and repair service for a minimum of three years post-installation, ensuring continuous operational functionality. The instrument must be compatible with existing laboratory infrastructure, meet specified technical standards, and be supported by local service and technical support in South Africa, preferably within KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Instrument name/model must be fully connected with all peripherals.
• Capable of analyzing parameters such as nitrate, total hardness, and conductivity, with detection ranges conforming to ASTM, EPA, and ISO standards.
• Autosampler with approximately 100 x 50 ml capacity, compatible with custom sample cups.
• Software supporting sample list management, real-time analysis display, priority sample handling, liquid handling, effective rinsing, and temperature compensation.
• Ability to perform at least 4 determinations per sample, with in-sample stirring and external burette titration capabilities.
• Supplied with necessary probes, reagent bottles, and at least 100 x 50 ml tubes.
• Connection to a desktop PC via USB, with software support and upgradability.
• Installation, calibration, and operator training to be provided on-site.
• Guarantee of 1 year from installation, with a comprehensive warranty covering parts, labor, and travel for 36 months.
• Maintenance and repair services must be supported by qualified local engineers, with response times within 8 hours.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and installing robotic titration instruments, with references to similar projects.
• Capability to provide technical support, maintenance, and repairs through qualified service engineers based in South Africa.
• Ability to deliver comprehensive operator training on both hardware and software components.
• Knowledge of ASTM, EPA, and ISO analytical methods to ensure compliance with international standards.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation, sample handling, and data management systems.
• Compliance with local regulatory and safety standards, including providing necessary certification (e.g., SABS approval).
