Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver staff uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Victoria Mxenge Hospital on a once-off basis, ensuring staff are equipped with appropriate, standard-compliant attire and PPE to promote safety, recognition, and professionalism.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of various staff uniforms and PPE items, including:

• Staff uniforms such as navy trousers, white shirts, skirts, blouses, and shirts for both male and female staff.
• Protective footwear including safety shoes for males and females.
• Protective clothing such as boiler suits, overalls, and gumboots.
• Protective gloves, including elbow-length gloves in red and blue.
• Unisex garments such as V-neck jerseys.

The items must meet detailed specifications, quality standards, and size requirements as outlined in the annexed specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with specified standards and quality standards (e.g., SABS approved, good top quality).
• Items must conform to detailed specifications including fabric composition, weave, mass per square meter, and design features.
• All garments and PPE must be new, unused, and of the latest models with no defects.
• Items must be delivered in accordance with the specified delivery schedule and packaging requirements.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required, and ensure all items meet the specified sizes and specifications.
• All items must be delivered to Victoria Mxenge Hospital’s designated delivery point within the contract period.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering uniforms and PPE to healthcare or similar institutions.
• Ability to meet detailed technical specifications and quality standards.
• Capacity to manage logistics and timely delivery within the specified contract period.
• Knowledge of compliance standards, including SABS standards and safety regulations.
• Capability to provide samples, documentation, and adhere to administrative and procurement procedures.
• Understanding of the procurement policies, including the Preferential Procurement Regulations and related legislation.
