Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repair and maintenance of air conditioners at Rietvlei Hospital. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning units, including split units and central systems, to support hospital operations and patient comfort.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of after-service repair of air conditioners, including split units and central units.
• Supply of all necessary materials, equipment, and labor for electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Gas refills, leak repairs, and replacement of specific air conditioning components such as motors, condensers, and remote controls.
• Carrying out repairs on various air conditioning units across multiple hospital departments, including operating theatres, wards, pharmacies, and clinics.
• Ensuring all work is completed within the specified contract period, with minimal disruption to hospital services.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Compliance with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and South African National Standards (SANS).
• Gas refilling and leak repair services for air conditioning units.
• Replacement of specific units such as 12000 Btu and 24000 Btu air conditioners, including motors and condensers.
• Remote control replacement and coding.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including the preparation of a health and safety plan with risk assessments.
• Work to be carried out on-site at Rietvlei Hospital with minimal disruption, respecting existing hospital operations.
• Provision of a Certificate of Compliance for electrical installations upon completion.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in air conditioning systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Qualified personnel with knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs specific to HVAC units.
