Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver various maintenance materials required by Hillcrest Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, for day-to-day maintenance activities across multiple categories including electrical, carpentry, painting, and plumbing materials.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of various maintenance materials across four main categories:

• Electrical materials (e.g., LED globes, batteries, cabtyre cables, sensors)
• Carpentry materials (e.g., drywall screws, epoxy adhesive, locks, rivets)
• Painting materials (e.g., brushes, primers, paints, sandpaper)
• Plumbing materials (e.g., toilet seats, pipes, fittings, sealers)

Bidders are required to quote on all four categories, with the total price for all items recorded on the official quotation form. The materials are intended for routine maintenance activities at Hillcrest Hospital.

Technical Requirements

The materials supplied must meet the following technical standards:

• Conform to the specifications attached in Annexure A, including size, colour, material, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Supplied in units, boxes, rolls, or bails as specified.
• No samples are required unless explicitly requested; if samples are requested, they must be provided in a timely manner.
• All items must be new, unused, and of the most recent models, free from defects, and incorporate recent design improvements unless specified otherwise.
• Materials must comply with the relevant SANS/SABS standards.

Quotes must include the total price for all items, and failure to quote on all four categories will result in disqualification.

Skills and Skills Requirements

While the tender primarily focuses on the supply of materials, the following skills and competencies are relevant for bidders:

• Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management processes.
• Understanding of technical specifications and standards for maintenance materials.
• Ability to provide quality assurance and meet specified standards.
