Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit formal written price quotations for the supply, delivery, and assembly of various furniture items and related equipment for the uMfolozi Municipality. The aim is to procure furniture that meets specified standards and specifications to support municipal operations.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, and assembly of the following items:

• Desks for various officials (e.g., Licensing Officer, Management Representative, Chief Traffic Officer, Administrator)
• Single row cubicles with pedestals
• Chairs including 4-seater bench seating, executive high-back chairs, ergonomic chairs, and visitor chairs
• Stationery filling cupboards
• Canteen tables
• Kitchen dust bins with pedals

All items must be delivered and assembled at the designated uMfolozi Municipality premises, with specific specifications and color requirements as detailed in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify the exact furniture specifications, including dimensions, colors, and features:

• Desks with specified sizes, colors (Burgundy Mahogany), and features such as shelves and locks
• Single row cubicles with 4 units, including pedestals, in Burgundy Mahogany
• Chairs including:
• 4-seater plastic bench seating (grey)
• Executive high-back chairs with bonded leather, chrome features, gas height adjustment, and weight capacity up to 130kg
• Spine ergonomic chairs with specific mechanisms, foam backrest, and black fabric
• Stackable black visitor chairs with foam seats and backrests
• Stationery cupboards of size 900x900x450mm in Ivory Karoo
• Canteen tables (850x1200)
• Kitchen dust bins (50L with pedal)

Skills and Compliance Requirements

Suppliers must:

• Enclose all compulsory returnable documents, including MBD forms, Tax Clearance, CSD report or MAAA number, and proof of municipal rates clearance
• Ensure quotations are valid for at least 90 days and include firm prices inclusive of VAT
• Indicate a firm delivery period
• Comply with the evaluation criteria based on the 80/20 preference point system, considering price and specific goals
• Meet the conditions related to non-involvement of persons in the service of the state

Additionally, bidders should demonstrate the ability to supply and assemble furniture as per technical specifications and deliver within the stipulated timeframe.
