Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver Particulate Filter Respirator (N95) Masks that meet specified safety and quality standards for use within the healthcare setting at GJGM Regional Hospital. The process aims to ensure the supply of compliant, high-quality masks that provide effective protection against airborne infections, supporting the hospital's infection control measures.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of 100 cases of Particulate Filter Respirator (N95) Masks, conforming to detailed specifications, standards, and quality requirements. The procurement covers all necessary documentation, testing, and compliance certifications, with delivery to the specified hospital location within the agreed contract period. The tender also encompasses evaluation of samples, verification of supplier credentials, and adherence to procurement policies.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with SANS 1866: 2004 type 2 standards and relevant quality standards (SABS/IOS/SANS).
• Proper construction with four layers of non-woven material, ultrasonically bonded, free from latex and glass.
• Design features including secure fit, adjustable nose clamp of aluminium (3mm), polyurethane foam strip (35mm width, 1mm thickness), and elastic bands of synthetic elastomeric material (5mm width).
• Ability to fit all facial structures and be used under full face shields.
• Marked with NIOSH approval, including model number, approval number, and filter efficiency (N95).
• Filtration efficiency: >95% for bacteria (BFE) at 0.3 micron and particles (PFE) at 0.1 micron; fluid resistance at 160mm Hg.
• Certification: Valid NIOSH certificate and compliance certificates to be submitted with bid.
• Sample submission for evaluation and testing.

Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards (SANS, NIOSH, SABS).
• Technical expertise in PPE specifications, testing, and certification processes.
• Ability to produce compliant samples and provide documentation such as BBBEE certificates, SARS tax clearance, and CSD registration.
• Capacity to deliver within specified timelines and handle logistics for large orders.
• Understanding of procurement policies, including preferential procurement and compliance with legislation.
• Experience in providing technical support and documentation for PPE products.
