Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply 60 units of pink female gowns endorsed with the KZN logo and hospital name, in accordance with the specified standards and specifications, to Umphumulo Hospital. The process aims to ensure timely delivery, compliance with technical standards, and adherence to procurement policies, including preferential procurement regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and documentation of pink female gowns suitable for hospital use, including sizes Large, X-Large, XX-Large, and XXX-Large. The procurement covers garments made from specified materials, with detailed construction and finishing requirements, to be supplied to Umphumulo Hospital under a once-off contract. The scope also includes compliance with administrative, technical, and quality standards as outlined in the specifications and evaluation criteria.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of 60 pink female gowns endorsed with the KZN logo and hospital name.
• Gowns must be double-breasted, collarless, unlined, with safety stitch overlock seams.
• Material: SABS 1401 Part 1 and V type T36 Terry Towelling, double-sided, minimum 200 gm.
• Design features include front swell stitched edges, safety stitch overlock seams, hemmed sleeves and bottoms, and a self-material hanger and belt.
• Size specifications:
  • Large: Bust 111.5 cm, Back length 122 cm, Sleeve length 84 cm, Belt length 178 cm
  • X-Large: Bust 122 cm, Back length 127 cm, Sleeve length 88 cm, Belt length 182 cm
  • XX-Large: Bust 127 cm, Back length 124 cm, Sleeve length 79 cm, Belt length 173 cm
  • XXX-Large: Measurements not fully legible but specified in detailed specifications.
• Garments must be finished with neat cut, make, and finish, including dye-fast size tabs sewn into the neck.
• All garments must conform to the specified quality standards and be supplied with appropriate documentation.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in garment manufacturing, including sewing, finishing, and quality control, adhering to specified standards.
• Ability to produce garments with specified materials and construction features, ensuring durability and comfort.
• Experience in handling hospital or medical garments, with knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
• Capability to provide samples, documentation, and compliance certificates, including CIPC registration, BBB-EE affidavits, and relevant quality standards.
• Competence in timely delivery, proper packaging, and documentation as per procurement and logistical requirements.
