Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a 3-year contract for the provision of refrigeration services, including maintenance, repairs, and related technical support, at Greytown Mortuary. The contract aims to ensure reliable refrigeration systems operation, compliance with safety and technical standards, and effective maintenance over the specified period.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Implementation of preventative maintenance for refrigeration systems, including cold and freezer rooms.
• Responding to unplanned breakdowns and corrective repairs.
• Installation, testing, commissioning, and guarantee of new or replacement equipment.
• Provision of technical personnel, including qualified technicians and site management.
• Adherence to safety, health, and occupational standards as per relevant legislation.
• Regular inspections, record-keeping, and reporting of maintenance activities.
• Provision of spare parts, consumables, and handling of redundant materials.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Installation of refrigeration systems comprising cold rooms and freezer rooms with specified capacity and configuration.
• Scheduled preventative maintenance at defined intervals (quarterly, major, minor services).
• Testing, calibration, and certification of equipment in accordance with SARACCA, SABS, ISO standards, and relevant codes.
• Provision of qualified and certified technicians with appropriate trade and SACCC registrations.
• Compliance with health and occupational safety regulations, including use of approved materials and adherence to statutory codes.
• Prompt response to breakdowns within specified response times, with detailed reporting and quotations for repairs.
• Guarantee of equipment for 12 months post-installation or repair, with warranty adherence for OEM parts.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience of at least six (6) years in refrigeration and HVAC maintenance projects, supported by award letters and certificates.
• Availability of qualified tradespersons, including SACCC registered technicians and certified welders, with verifiable work experience.
• Proven ability to carry out installation, maintenance, and repair works in healthcare or similar sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, safety standards, and technical codes.
• Capability to provide emergency response, detailed record-keeping, and comprehensive reporting.
• Compliance with health and safety policies, including risk assessments, site inspections, and incident management.
