Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for the installation of water troughs and the implementation of a maintenance plan at SAVP, NHLS Sandringham Campus. The successful bidder will ensure the proper installation, plumbing, brickwork, and ongoing maintenance of water troughs to support livestock and related infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Installation of concrete water troughs (810mm x 340mm x 330mm) in stables and quarantine camps.
• Construction of supporting brickwork and reinforcement, including cutting out existing floors and integrating with existing structures.
• Plumbing works inside and outside the stables, including pipe installation, valves, drainage, and connection to water sources.
• Provision for plumbing services such as chasing, pipe fitting, and installation of isolation valves.
• Construction of masonry walls to support water troughs, including reinforcement and plastering.
• Installation of plumbing and brickwork in quarantine camps, including pipe runs and drainage.
• Provision for contingency and project supervision to ensure standards are maintained.
• Completion within an estimated timeframe, with all work adhering to specified standards and specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Installation of concrete water troughs with appropriate plumbing and drainage systems.
• Construction of brick walls and reinforcement to support water troughs, bonded to existing structures using the tooth-in method.
• Provision of plumbing inside and outside the stables, including copper and polycop pipes, valves, and flexi-pipes.
• Chasing and good finishing of pipework, ensuring valves are out of livestock reach.
• Application of cement plaster to all exposed surfaces and reinforcement fixing.
• Construction of masonry walls with provisions for drainage and water management.
• Installation of plumbing in quarantine camps, including pipe runs, valves, and drainage.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards specified by NHLS.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in plumbing, brickwork, and concrete installation, particularly in livestock or similar environments.
• Qualified personnel with relevant trade certificates, including plumbing and bricklaying qualifications.
• Capability to manage and supervise construction projects on-site, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate plumbing and brickwork activities efficiently and within the stipulated timeframe.
• Knowledge of water management systems, drainage, and reinforcement techniques.
• Experience in working with public health facilities and understanding of NHLS standards.
• Capacity to provide ongoing maintenance and support as per the maintenance plan.
