Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and experienced service provider to carry out repairs on a faulty weighbridge scale at the Ntabankulu Local Municipality landfill site. The repair aims to ensure the weighbridge functions accurately for weighing vehicles with waste, recording load data, and verifying loads in compliance with waste disposal standards and environmental regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repair and maintenance of the weighbridge scale at Ntabankulu landfill site.
• Ensuring repairs adhere to the Waste Management Act 59 of 2008, the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998, and relevant environmental standards.
• Demonstrating the ability to perform day-to-day repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure continuous weighbridge operation.
• Provision of necessary machinery, tools, and qualified technicians for the repair process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Repair of one weighbridge scale at the landfill site.
• Compliance with environmental and waste management standards.
• Provision of a SANAS-accredited technician for the repair.
• Utilization of relevant machinery and tools, such as load cell simulators, jacking kits, junction boxes, laser levels, grout pumps, etc.
• Submission of a comprehensive methodology detailing the repair process, deliverables, and fixed time frames.
• Traceable references of similar projects completed, including project details and appointment letters.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider include:

• Relevant experience in repairing and maintaining weighbridge scales or similar equipment.
• Demonstrable capacity to provide qualified technicians, preferably SANAS-accredited.
• Ability to supply and operate machinery and tools relevant to weighbridge repairs.
• Knowledge of environmental standards and waste management legislation.
• Capability to prepare and implement a detailed repair methodology with clear deliverables and timelines.
• Proven track record through references and appointment letters for similar projects.
