The primary objective is to safely attend to an exploded and burned outdoor electrical distribution kiosk at Maluti SAPS barracks that has negatively impacted seven residential houses. The project aims to investigate the extent of damage, secure the site, remove compromised infrastructure, and supply and install a fully compliant replacement kiosk to restore safe and reliable electrical distribution.
The successful bidder will execute a comprehensive repair and replacement program comprising:
Bidders must possess a CIDB contractor grading designation of 1 EB or 1 EP (or higher), with emerging enterprises eligible at PE grade. Registration and ongoing compliance with the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and CIDB are mandatory. All replacement parts and materials must match original specifications and carry SANS/SABS approval where applicable. The replacement kiosk must meet a minimum IP55 rating, be constructed from powder-coated mild steel, feature a lockable double-door enclosure, stainless steel hinges and locks, and include danger signs and equipment labels. Contractors must strictly adhere to occupational health and safety legislation, local authority by-laws, and unemployment insurance regulations. A contract security equivalent to 2.5% of the contract sum is required. Invoicing is strictly regulated, requiring specific reference codes and submission within thirty days of completion.
The tenderer must provide proof of at least one qualified Electrical Artisan holding a valid trade test certificate from an accredited institution. This certification must belong to a company director or a direct employee. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate access to a suitable vehicle with a minimum half-ton loading capacity, supported by proof of ownership or a formal lease agreement. Technical evaluation prioritizes demonstrated experience on comparable projects over the past five to ten years, requiring comprehensive project history submissions and verifiable client references. An organizational chart, certified identification documents, and proof of professional registration for key personnel must accompany the bid.
