Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure clear garbage bags measuring 910mm x 760mm with a thickness of 50 microns for use at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of quality waste disposal bags that meet specified standards and specifications, supporting effective waste management within the hospital environment.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of 120,000 units of clear garbage bags.
• Provision of bags conforming to detailed specifications (size, thickness, material, and packaging).
• Delivery to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, 7 Bazley Street, Port Shepstone, within the contract period.
• Compliance with technical, quality, and safety standards as specified in the tender documentation.

• Size: 910mm x 760mm
• Color: Clear
• Heat bonded to prevent leakage and bursting
• Recycled content: Once only (no Umgeni products)
• Packing: 100 units per bale

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Proposals must demonstrate:

• Capability to supply large volumes of quality garbage bags within specified timeframes.
• Experience in manufacturing or supplying similar waste disposal products.
• Compliance with South African standards (SANS/SABS) for polyethylene bags.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, product datasheets, and samples if required.
• Understanding of procurement procedures and adherence to health and safety standards.
• Disclose relevant company registration details, including BBBEE status, CSD registration, and tax compliance.
