Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install outdoor gym equipment at Bismark Place Park, ensuring the provision of quality outdoor fitness facilities that promote health and recreation within the community.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• General building, electrical, glazing, plumbing, carpentry, civil, mechanical, fire systems, etc.
• Site inspection prior to pricing for accuracy
• Excavation and preparation of foundations for outdoor gym equipment
• Supply and pour of concrete bases
• Supply and installation of various outdoor gym equipment such as adult space walker, elliptical cross trainer, pull chair, bicycle, and parallel bars
• Compliance with occupational health & safety standards and environmental management
• Disposal of damaged materials and hazardous waste at registered dumpsites
• Completion period of approximately one (1) month

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, GCC, and relevant standards (SANS/Trade specifications, manufacturer's instructions)
• Preparation of foundations with excavation and concrete pouring
• Installation of specified outdoor gym equipment with secure foundations
• Provision of necessary scaffolding, dust screens, tarpaulins, and waste management
• Provision of Certificates of Compliance (COC) for electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other installations
• Adherence to environmental and safety regulations, including hazardous waste disposal
• Completion within the specified contract period with penalties for delays

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Eligible bidders must meet the following criteria:

• Appointment to the panel with a CIDB grading of 1GB
• Completion of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and specifications
• Attendance of a compulsory site briefing session
• Provision of a municipal statement not older than three months or a valid lease agreement
• Valid COIDA Certificate from the Department of Labour (Letter of Good Standing)
• Signed Joint Venture (JV) agreement if applicable, with all regulatory documents
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provision of CSD vendor number
• Demonstrated experience in outdoor gym equipment installation and civil works
• Compliance with occupational health & safety and environmental management standards

Additional skills include:

• Ability to execute works within a tight timeframe (approximately one month)
• Capacity to manage waste disposal and hazardous materials responsibly
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards and safety regulations
• Effective project planning and site management skills
