Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install play equipment at Noordwyk Park, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards. The project aims to enhance recreational facilities, promote safety, and meet the specifications outlined by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ).

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of various play equipment such as swings, slides, and joywheels.
• Construction activities including excavation, pouring concrete, and securing equipment.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Site preparation, including site inspection, clearing, and ensuring all materials meet specifications.
• Adherence to environmental management and safety requirements.

The scope covers general building, electrical, glazing, plumbing, carpentry, civil, mechanical, and fire systems as required for the installation of play equipment.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of play equipment compliant with relevant SANS standards and manufacturer instructions.
• Specific equipment specifications such as:
• 2-seater adult heavy-duty swings with specified dimensions and materials.
• Adult heavy-duty slide with length not exceeding 11m and height not exceeding 2.5m.
• Senior metal joywheel with specified diameter and support structure.
• Excavation and concrete pouring to secure equipment.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety legislation, including safety plans and insurance coverage.
• Proper disposal of damaged or removed materials at approved dumpsites.
• Completion within a contract period of one month, with penalties for delays.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:
