Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the major and minor maintenance of generators at PHC clinics within the KwaZulu-Natal province. The aim is to ensure reliable generator operation through scheduled servicing, testing, and replacement of critical parts, thereby supporting continuous healthcare service delivery at various clinics.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Providing major and minor generator servicing at specified clinics (e.g., Mgangen, Umzinto, Philani, Dlangezwa, Dududu, Park Rynie).
• Replacing all fuel pipes (20 BAR WP 3/8" rubber hoses).
• Replacing batteries (105 AMP/H 12V sealed maintenance-free batteries).
• Taking and testing oil and fuel samples, and providing reports.
• Arranging with clinic maintenance teams and working under supervision of hospital artisans.
• Starting work within 7 days of order receipt.
• Providing SIM cards with data for remote monitoring (DSE WebNet activation).
• Ensuring safety and compliance with technical and safety standards during service.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The service provider must have a CIDB grading of at least 1ME and 1EB.
• Proof of liability insurance, qualified mechanics, and electricians with wireman's licenses must be provided.
• All services must include cleaning, inspection, and detailed reporting with before-and-after photos.
• Replacement of all water and fuel pipes, and testing of oil and fuel samples, are mandatory.
• Service must be completed within 7 days of receiving the order.
• Service providers must supply SIM cards with data and activate existing DSE WebNet systems for remote generator monitoring.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified mechanical and electrical artisans with wireman's licenses.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining generators, especially at healthcare facilities.
• Ability to perform detailed inspections, testing, and reporting.
• Competence in handling fuel and oil sampling, testing, and reporting procedures.
• Capacity to work under supervision and coordinate with clinic maintenance teams.
• Provision of necessary safety measures and adherence to health and safety standards during operations.
