Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the major and minor maintenance of generators at PHC clinics within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The aim is to ensure reliable power supply through scheduled servicing, testing, and replacement of critical components such as fuel and water pipes, batteries, and oil/fuel samples testing.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Performing major and minor generator services at specified clinics (e.g., Mgangen, Umzinto, Philani, Dlangezwa, Dudu Dudu, Park Rynie).
• Replacing all fuel pipes (20 BAR WP 3/8" rubber hoses).
• Replacing sealed maintenance-free batteries (105 Ah, 12V).
• Testing and reporting on oil and fuel samples.
• Providing a checklist and photographic evidence before and after service.
• Traveling between GJ Crookes Hospital and clinics as specified.
• Supply and activation of SIM cards with 5GB data for remote monitoring.
• Adhering to safety protocols and working under supervision of hospital artisans.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of qualified mechanical and electrical artisans with wiremen’s licenses.
• Proof of liability insurance coverage.
• Experience in similar generator servicing projects, with evidence of completed projects.
• Compliance with safety standards during work execution.
• Starting work within 7 days of receiving the order.
• Replacement of all specified parts, including fuel and water pipes, batteries, and testing samples.
• Use of approved tools and adherence to scope of work and safety procedures.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified mechanical and electrical technicians with wiremen’s licenses.
• Proven experience in generator maintenance and servicing.
• Ability to perform detailed testing, reporting, and documentation.
• Capacity to handle multiple sites with timely service delivery.
• Competence in safety procedures and working under supervision.
