Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the major and minor maintenance of generators at PHC clinics, including comprehensive servicing, replacement of fuel pipes, testing of oil and fuel samples, and ensuring operational readiness of generators across multiple clinics within the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Performing major and minor generator services at specified clinics (e.g., Mgangeni, Umzinto, Philani, Dlangezwa, Dududu, Park Rynie).
• Replacing all water and fuel pipes (20 BAR WP 3/8" rubber hoses).
• Replacing 105 AMP/HR 12V sealed maintenance-free batteries with licensed electricians.
• Taking and testing oil and fuel samples, providing detailed reports.
• Arranging with clinic maintenance teams and working under supervision.
• Ensuring timely commencement within 7 days of order receipt.
• Providing SIM cards with data and activating network services for remote monitoring.
• Documenting all work with before and after photographs and detailed reports.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to safety protocols during all operations.
• Use of qualified personnel: at least 1 Mechanical Engineer (ME) and 1 Electrical Engineer (EB) with CIDB grading.
• Provision of proof of liability insurance, qualified mechanics, and electricians with wiremen's licenses.
• Replacement of specified parts with quality components (fuel pipes, batteries).
• Testing of oil and fuel samples with documented reports, without purification.
• Use of SIM cards with 5GB data for remote communication and monitoring.
• Compliance with scope of work, safety, and reporting standards as per attached specifications.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in generator maintenance and servicing at healthcare facilities or similar environments.
• Qualified mechanical and electrical artisans with wiremen's licensing.
• Capability to perform detailed testing, reporting, and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with clinic maintenance teams and adhere to safety and operational protocols.
• Competence in handling remote communication equipment and network activation.
