Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an Anaesthetic Workstation Machine suitable for use in District Hospitals, including supply, delivery, installation, demonstration, end-user training, and commissioning. The procurement aims to ensure the equipment meets specified safety, performance, and compliance standards, with an emphasis on providing a comprehensive 5-year service contract covering maintenance, repairs, and support.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, calibration, demonstration, and training for the Anaesthetic Workstation Machine and associated monitoring systems. It includes providing manuals, spare parts, optional accessories, and ensuring the equipment complies with technical and safety standards. The scope also covers post-warranty maintenance, service agreements, and adherence to relevant legislation and standards applicable within South Africa, particularly KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Technical Requirements

• The equipment must include an Anaesthesia Workstation, Ventilator with monitoring, Circle Absorber System, Gas Analysis, and Multi-parameter monitor.
• Construction must be corrosion-resistant, robust, and compact, fitting through standard doorways.
• Dimensions: Max height 210 cm including wheels; weight not exceeding 150 kg; width/depth suitable for passage through 800 mm doorways.
• Power supply: 220V AC, 50Hz, with a minimum 3-meter mains cable, protected against electrical faults, with battery backup for at least 30 minutes.
• Gas supply: Includes inlets for oxygen, medical air, nitrous oxide, with color-coded hoses, pressure gauges, and safety relief valves.
• Features: Recessed oxygen flush, safety devices, vaporisers with interlock, gas analysis with display, and alarms for low oxygen, gas leaks, and system faults.
• Monitoring: Capnography, SpO2, NIBP, temperature, ECG, and trend displays with user-configurable alarms and parameters.
• Guarantee: Minimum 24 months, with provisions for breakdowns, repairs, and spare parts availability for at least 10 years.
• Compliance: Must meet IEC 60601 standards, CE certification, and relevant South African legislation including Radiation Control licensing if applicable.
• Training: End-user training, demonstration, and calibration support to be provided by the supplier.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in anaesthetic equipment installation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Ability to demonstrate and train end-users on equipment operation, safety features, and troubleshooting.
• Proven capacity to provide after-sales service, including repairs, spare parts supply, and technical support within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards, legislation, and safety regulations related to medical and anaesthetic equipment.
• Experience in managing comprehensive service contracts and providing technical documentation, manuals, and training materials.
