Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply a comprehensive range of houseware items to Stellenbosch Municipality. Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various houseware products, including but not limited to crockery, cutlery, kitchen appliances, utensils, glassware, and related household items. The items listed include plates, mugs, cutlery sets, kitchen appliances (e.g., coffee makers, toasters, blenders), glassware, and other household accessories. The contract covers the procurement of these goods to be supplied to Stellenbosch Municipality within the stipulated timeframe, adhering to technical and quality specifications.

Technical Requirements

• All products must meet the minimum specifications outlined in the tender document, including size, capacity, material, and functionality.
• Items such as crockery, cutlery, and kitchen appliances must be durable, food-safe, and compliant with relevant safety standards.
• Electrical appliances (e.g., coffee makers, toasters, blenders) must operate within specified voltage and power requirements (e.g., 220-240V, 50/60Hz).
• Products must be new, unused, and supplied with all necessary accessories and documentation.
• Items such as vacuum sealers, blenders, and kitchen gadgets must include appropriate safety features, easy maintenance, and be compliant with electrical safety standards.
• All goods must be packaged securely to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
• Delivery must be made within the agreed timeframe, with the ability to replace or rectify non-compliant or defective goods.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate experience in supplying similar household goods, supported by references and previous contract details.
• Bidder’s team should possess knowledge of product standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes relevant to household items.
• Suppliers should have the capacity to deliver goods in the required quantities and within the specified delivery schedule.
• Proven compliance with tax regulations and valid registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) is mandatory.
• Suppliers must provide proof of B-BBEE status and demonstrate commitment to local procurement where applicable.
• Technical staff or representatives involved in the supply chain should have adequate training or expertise in handling, packaging, and delivering household goods.
