Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a reputable service provider to provide courier services for Saldanha Bay Municipality from the date of appointment until 30 June 2027. The successful provider will deliver documents, including summonses and other official correspondence, ensuring confidentiality, safety, and timely delivery in line with high-quality standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Courier services for documents across all provinces as required by Saldanha Bay Municipality's Revenue Department.
• Provision of an electronic tracking system to enable the municipality to track all consignments.
• Delivery and collection of summonses and other official documents.
• Ensuring confidentiality and safety of parcels, with measures in place to protect sensitive information in compliance with relevant laws such as the POPI Act.
• Deliveries to be made within 7 days after official orders.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the courier services include:

• An electronic tracking system capable of tracking all couriered consignments.
• Delivery of documents only, with safeguards to ensure confidentiality and security.
• No insurance or public liability coverage required.
• Delivery of summonses and documents across all provinces, with the ability to handle varying quantities as needed.
• Compliance with relevant laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Skills and Capability Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Experience in courier services, particularly for official and sensitive documents.
• Ability to provide a reliable electronic tracking system for consignments.
• Capacity to deliver across multiple provinces within specified timeframes.
