Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver water treatment chemicals, specifically sodium hypochlorite and a coagulant (Rheofloc 5113 XI or equivalent), to the uMgungundlovu District Municipality's water treatment plant. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality chemicals necessary for water treatment processes, adhering to specified standards and delivery requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of 100 units of sodium hypochlorite (30kg containers, empties available on site)
• Provision of 150 units of coagulant (Rheofloc 5113 XI or equivalent, empties available on site)
• Delivery of chemicals to iMpendle Water Treatment Plant
• Submission of quotations on official bid documents, sealed and clearly marked
• Compliance with municipal procurement policies and submission of all required documentation

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Supply of specified quantities of water treatment chemicals (sodium hypochlorite and coagulant)
• Delivery to the designated water treatment plant within the stipulated timeframe
• Use of equivalent products that meet the specified standards and specifications
• Provision of empties for collection on site
• Adherence to the municipality’s procurement policies and quality standards

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet the following skills and qualification criteria:

• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
• Compliance with tax obligations and submission of valid tax clearance certificates
• Provision of a B-BBEE status level verification or sworn affidavit
• Submission of independent bid determination (MBD 9) and declaration of interest (MBD 4)
• Demonstration of good standing with municipal accounts, with proof of no arrears exceeding specified periods
• Declaration of past supply chain management practices and absence of fraudulent conduct
• Compliance with the company's legal standing, including proof of registration and authority to sign bids
• Ability to deliver chemicals within the specified timeframe and meet quality standards
