Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver water treatment chemicals, specifically sodium hypochlorite and coagulant (Rheofloc 5113 XI or equivalent), to the uMgungundlovu District Municipality's water treatment plant. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality chemicals necessary for water treatment processes, adhering to specified standards and delivery requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of 100 units of sodium hypochlorite (30kg containers, with empties available on site for collection).
• Provision of 150 units of coagulant (Rheofloc 5113 XI or equivalent, with empties available on site).
• Delivery of chemicals to the iMpendle Water Treatment Plant.
• Submission of quotations on official bid documents, sealed and clearly marked.
• Compliance with municipal procurement policies, including preference point systems and registration requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the chemicals are as follows:

• Sodium Hypochlorite: 30kg containers, suitable for water disinfection.
• Coagulant: Rheofloc 5113 XI or an equivalent chemical suitable for water treatment coagulation processes.
• All chemicals must meet relevant quality standards and be delivered in containers that are compatible with water treatment processes.
• Empties are available on site for collection, indicating a need for proper handling and disposal as per municipal guidelines.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet the following skills and qualification criteria:

• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Provision of valid B-BBEE verification or sworn affidavit to claim preference points.
• Compliance with tax obligations, including submission of tax compliance status and TCS certificates.
• Completion of all mandatory documentation, including MBD 9 (Independent Bid Determination) and declarations of interest and past supply chain practices.
• Demonstrated ability to supply chemicals that meet technical specifications and delivery timelines.
• Experience in supplying water treatment chemicals to municipal or similar clients is advantageous.
