Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to carry out renovations of the Speakers' Office in Groblersdal. The scope includes restoration, repair, replacement, and maintenance works to improve the office facilities, including roof gutters, toilets, sinks, flooring, windows, doors, and related structural elements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Replacement of all roof gutters and downpipes, including roof maintenance and painting of steel frames, roof tiles, doors, and window frames.
• Replacement of sink cabinets and sinks with specified finishes.
• Replacement of floor tiles in two toilets.
• Replacement and installation of windows and doors, ensuring proper fitting and finishing.
• Restoration and repair of existing office building structures, including roof drainage systems, sanitary fittings, glazing, and painting works.
• Adherence to technical specifications for surface preparation, painting, and material quality.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• All work must comply with South African National Standards (SANS), Occupational Health and Safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
• Site inspection prior to commencement to verify dimensions and identify damages.
• Use of new, unused, defect-free materials that meet relevant standards.
• Proper protection of existing structures during works, with repairs for any damages caused by the contractor.
• Specific technical tasks such as surface preparation, priming, painting with specified colours and thicknesses, and installation of new fixtures.
• Replacement of gutters and downpipes with specified materials and finishes, ensuring correct installation and spacing.
• Replacement of windows with UPVC or aluminium, matching existing colours and verifying dimensions on site.

Skills Requirements

The successful tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in building restoration, roofing, plumbing, and painting works.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and execute detailed surface preparation and finishing tasks.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Capability to manage site inspections, verify measurements, and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Proficiency in handling materials such as galvanised steel, UPVC, aluminium, tiles, and paints.
• Proper documentation and submission of all required returnable documents, including tax compliance, company registration, ID copies, CIDB registration, municipal rates proof, and relevant forms (MBD, CSD report).
