Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider to supply and install an air-conditioning system at the PRF Auditorium at NICD Sandringham Campus. The project aims to enhance the climate control within the auditorium by installing ducted, non-inverter, hideaway air conditioning units that meet specified capacity and quality standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of three 85,000 Btu ducted, non-inverter hideaway air conditioning units suitable for heating and cooling.
• Provision of associated supply and return air unit connections.
• Installation of approximately 45 meters of piping (15 meters per unit) as per relevant standards (SANS 10142-1).
• Delivery of units and accessories to the NICD Sandringham Campus.
• Completion of the installation once, adhering to the specified technical and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the air-conditioning units are as follows:

• Type: Ducted, non-inverter, hideaway units capable of 85,000 Btu (heating and cooling).
• Quantity: 3 units.
• Connection: Supply and return air units, with piping of 15 meters per unit.
• Standards: Installation must comply with SANS 10142-1.
• Accessories: All necessary accessories for installation and operation.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• CIDB Grade ME1 or higher certification.
• Qualified refrigeration technicians with trade test certificates and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Registration with the South African Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SARACCA).
• Valid registration with COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act) and a good standing certificate.
• Qualified electrical artisans with a minimum of three years’ experience, CVs, and electrical wireman’s licenses.
• Proven track record with reference letters from previous clients confirming satisfactory service delivery.
