Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage an experienced solar water heating installation company to troubleshoot and fully operationalize an existing dual-installation system located on a military base in Limpopo province. The company will assess system failures or obstructions, provide a costed intervention plan to restore full functionality without extensive hardware replacement, and ensure skills transfer to SANEDI and DoD members. The ultimate goal is to enable full occupation and utilization of the associated buildings.

Scope

The scope includes:

• A compulsory site inspection scheduled for 18 June 2026 in Hoedspruit, with on-site measurements and project presentation.
• Assessment and troubleshooting of existing systems, including flat plate collectors, hot water tanks, solar stations, freshwater stations, and associated hardware/software components.
• Evaluation of current system issues, particularly with the RESOL® DeltaSol® BX Plus hardware and software, and proposing interventions to restore full functionality.
• Skills transfer and training for SANEDI and SANDF members on system operation and maintenance.
• Completion of the project within a 2-month timeframe.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope mandates:

• Inspection and assessment of existing solar water heating systems, including flat plate collectors (RK2500N Alpin Easy Vertical), insulated buffer tanks, solar stations, freshwater stations, and associated hardware.
• Experience with the RESOL® DeltaSol® BX Plus hardware and software interface.
• Minimization of hardware interventions during troubleshooting and repairs.
• Provision of detailed methodology and technical design for system troubleshooting, repairs, and interventions.
• Guarantees on system hardware and software performance post-intervention.
• Inclusion of transport and accommodation costs due to the remote project site.
• Security vetting and compliance with SANDF requirements, with all personnel being South African citizens.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Extensive experience in installing and maintaining large-scale, pumped solar water heating systems for indirect applications.
• Proven track record with solar thermal projects, supported by reference letters and project documentation.
• Expertise in hardware and software components of the RESOL DeltaSol® BX Plus system.
• Capability to minimize hardware interventions during troubleshooting.
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications, degrees, and experience in solar thermal systems, including system design and project management.
• Ability to undergo security vetting and operate within the security protocols of the SANDF.
• Willingness to include transport and accommodation costs in the bid.
