Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the structural maintenance of Enseleni Water Treatment Works (WTW). The aim is to ensure the proper repair, refurbishment, and upkeep of site fences, buildings, and related infrastructure to maintain safety, functionality, and compliance with relevant standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Site assessment and risk evaluation prior to commencement.
• Removal of existing damaged fences and structures.
• Supply and installation of new concrete palisade fencing to match existing structures.
• Tree and grass cutting around the fence line.
• Replacement and repair of doors, toilets, taps, and other building fixtures.
• Painting, tightening, and general refurbishment of existing fixtures.
• Installation of an air conditioning unit in the office.
• Site clearance and debris removal post-maintenance.

The work is to be completed within a contract period of three weeks, including statutory and holiday periods.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• Compliance with safety standards and procedures during all phases of work.
• Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel on site.
• Removal of all rubble and debris from the site, with disposal at designated dumping sites.
• Removal of existing fences and damaged structures, followed by supply and installation of new concrete palisade fencing with specified foundation dimensions and bolt-tied poles.
• Replacement of doors with aluminium and steel options, including locks and frames.
• Replacement and repair of sanitary fixtures, including toilets, shower roses, taps, and globes.
• Painting of doors and fixtures with clear varnish.
• Installation of a 9000 BTU split air conditioning unit with all necessary components and safety switches.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety legislation, including compliance with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Verification of levels and dimensions on site before work begins, with all workmanship and materials conforming to the latest SANS codes and specifications.
• Provision of proof of previous similar work, registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), and submission of a Letter of Good Standing.
• All alterations to be signed and confirmed by the bidder, with no price increases accepted after submission without proper signatures.
• Measurement and payment to be based on completion, with rates exclusive of VAT.
